If you’ve ever read about entrepreneurs or listened to them speak, they often talk about the innate entrepreneurial spirit that has always been with them.

The same is true for Josh Hadley, host of the eComm Breakthrough Podcast. Josh’s success rose from humble beginnings, and he’ll tell you that he made mistakes along the way. But those mistakes taught him valuable lessons, and as a result, Josh was able to grow a business into an eight-figure success. His only regret? That he could have reached such margins much quicker. There was no guide for him to prevent stumbling blocks, so he created his own guide for other entrepreneurs.

In this episode of Josh Hadley’s eComm Breakthrough Podcast, Chad Franzen of Rise25 flips the script and interviews Josh. Together, these two well-versed business-to-business podcasters discuss Josh’s serial entrepreneurial conquests. Josh’s story is an inspiring one, and you’ll learn this as he describes his background, how his wife’s talents inspired their first e-commerce brand, and the motivation behind starting his podcast.

Chad Franzen 1:55

Hey, Josh, thanks so much. It’s great to be here. Hey, question for you. Would you consider yourself a lifelong entrepreneur?

Josh Hadley 2:02

Yeah, I would definitely say I’m a lifelong entrepreneur, for whatever reason, there’s, there’s just something inside of me that doesn’t allow me to rest at night, I’m always got a lot of business ideas going. And that started at a really young age. My, my parents weren’t entrepreneurs, either of them. But they allowed me to kind of explore my passion in entrepreneurship. I was always the kid selling candy on the corner of the street or selling snow cones, or during wintertime it was hot chocolate. But what I love is that my parents were always there, supporting me, even with kind of my wild, crazy business ideas. In fact, my dad even built me a wooden candy stand that I was able to set up and we have some fun family photos of those of the different stuff that I was selling. So yeah, going back at it at a very young age. I don’t know what, what got into me at a young age. But yeah, from the very onset, I’ve been looking for business ideas,

Chad Franzen 3:07

Do you? Do you have any days that were like memorably lucrative selling some of those things? Like, you were like, wow, I really cleaned up today?

Josh Hadley 3:17

That’s a great question. You know, I don’t know that there’s one day that necessarily sticks out as I look back. I do remember, like, there were days where I’d bring home a good amount of money. I was like, “Wow, look how much money I’m making.” It was probably like 20 or 40 bucks or something like that. But to me, it’s, it’s a series of those events that I feel like I can look back and be like, Oh, I was a successful like, little entrepreneur back in the day, even though I don’t remember, like, a specific amount or a big day. But it’s the repetition at which I was able to do it. It wasn’t like, oh, I tried to sell lemonade one day, and I didn’t have as many customers and so I stopped, you know, or anything like that. It’s I just kept going. And I’m sure there were days where it was probably a little quiet. And then days where, you know, we weren’t crushing it. But is that repetition? I think that helped me with my mindset that I still use today because every day is different.

Chad Franzen 4:15

Yeah. Great. So maybe you can continue with me on your on your entrepreneurial journey. You started out doing things like that. How did that kind of evolve as you grew up to be an adult?
