It’s good to be here, Josh, thanks for having me.

Ben, you’ve recently come out with a brand new book. And I’ve already heard lots of good things about it. So Ben, tell me a little bit about this book. Where did the inspiration come from in terms of you writing this book? And What message are you trying to convey to other e-commerce entrepreneurs? Sure, well, the book is really the book that I wish I’d had, not just when I started, but really the whole way through my first brand. And in a way writing, it has sort of been a guide for my new brands that I build, because it’s been a solid reminder of the, you know, the business principles that I need to apply to, to building my e-commerce brands.

Ben Leonard 3:06

You know, it’s a roadmap of timeless business principles apply to e-commerce. So what it’s not is it’s not like a highly technical guide on how to use Amazon, or how to use Shopify or something like that, that’s gonna go out of date in a few months. My hope is this will provide value to people for years. But I remember the moment I decided that I would write it, I’ve been kind of mulling it over for a while writing a book, but I thought, a lot of work. But I was at a conference in early 2022. And there was this guy on the stage, the audience was mesmerized, I sort of had a so almost like an out of body experience, I kind of took a step back and looked around me at all the audience and they were eating out the palm of the guy’s hand. And to be fair to him, he’s very good at casting a spell over them. And a lot of what he was saying was like, technically, right, but he wasn’t giving us any evidence of anything he’d actually done. It was all well, maybe this maybe that in theory, there’s in theory that and I thought, you know, it’s time to come out of stealth mode, write something based on what I’ve done with examples of my work and my clients work. And, you know, really give a kind of a No BS, anti-gurus approach to e-commerce, really.
